You know the saying 'Behind every good man stands a good woman.' Well, it shouldn’t surprise is that Thomas Rhett has got himself a doozy (in a good way!) of a wife standing behind him.
With a velvety voice, a sweet smile, and a killer work ethic, Thomas is undeniably a catch for any lady. Thomas himself is well known for his various philanthropic adventures, including his support (both financial and social) of charities such as Feed America and ACM Lifting Lives. Thomas has remarked several times that his wife, and high school sweetheart, Lauren has inspired him to be the man that he is today.
It turns out, however, that Lauren does more than inspire him in the real world: She inspires him in the studio. And Thomas better be extra appreciative of his beautiful bride, because that inspiration has brought him to his latest #1 single!
According to Thomas, “Die a Happy Man” was written after his wife informed him that he didn’t write enough ‘sweet’ songs. She apparently told him that “Something to Do with My Hands” was too saucy and overly sex-driven, and “Crash and Burn” was far too depressing. She tasked him to create a sweet song. Her husband, clearly pleased with himself when he wrote the song, sent along a demo at 4AM on a tour bus. Her reaction? Lauren said that it was “hands down” one of the best songs he’d ever written.
Behind every good man is a great woman, and Lauren Rhett is certainly that.
