The best gifts in life are not big, and the most memorable moments don’t come with a huge price tag.
Kimberly Williams-Paisley, the wife of country music star Brad Paisley is sharing her life story of heartache, disease, and redemption in her new book Where the Light Gets In: Losing My Mother Only to Find Her Again. The book is an homage and a tale of hope for Kimberly’s mother Linda. Linda Williams was diagnosed at the age of 62 with primary progressive aphasia, a rare condition that attacks the nervous system and thus making communication difficult and at times impossible.
Kimberly and Brad took to Twitter to discuss the book, the lessons learned, and of course, to discuss Kimberly’s mama. Though communication might be difficult now, Kimberly recalled a special way that her mom used to let someone know how special and important they were to her.
“My Mom used to attach gold paper clips to mailings when she wanted the person receiving the package to feel special. And this paper clip has become a really important symbol for me, and I can’t wait to share it with you.”
A gold paper clip. No words necessary. No huge fancy price tag. Just a genuine and honest gesture of love, peace, and happiness. One small clip made a huge impact on her daughter and countless many others in Linda Williams’s life. What small thing could you do today to make someone’s life better?
Where the Light Gets In: Losing My Mother Only to Find Her Again is available now for preorder.
