Taylor Swift Changes the World One Apple at a Time

You’ve got to hand it to her: Taylor Swift isn’t afraid to say what is on her mind. The current pop queen, (but original country cutie), Taylor Swift is well known for her propensity for telling it like it is! Whether it is about a scorned lover, a group of haters, or a gigantic multinational corporation that is often cited as being responsible for the technological and design revolution. Visionary or not, Taylor Swift had no problem telling Apple that their fruit was rotten – and she wasn’t taking a bite.

On Sunday, Taylor took to her Tumblr account to pen an open letter to Apple in light of their new music streaming platform and their apparent disinterest in paying royalties to the artists whose music would be hitting the Internet airwaves for a full three months. In her letter, Swift indicated that no music artist would go so far as to ask Apple for free iPhones, and therefore they shouldn’t ask for free music. She indicated that her latest album, “1989” would not be available on the service due to what she described as a “shocking” stance held by the company.

Well, that is all it took.

Less than 24 hours later, Apple had already hit the boardroom and reversed their stance on the royalty free period and literally changed the future of music streaming online. Not bad for a day’s work.

Then again, she’s never been afraid to tell someone how it is!
