A Thousand Horses Are Missing the Smaller Venues

Add the band A Thousand Horses to the list of musical greats who got their start in small clubs and are itching to go back.

That is not to say that A Thousand Horses hasn’t been totally thrilled with their success. Opening for Darius Rucker and becoming a mainstay on the country charts as well as being huge draw on the tour scene has been a dream fulfilled for the band.

However, singer Michael Hobby told CMT’s Hot 20 Countdown recently that he loves the opportunity to play both big arenas and small club venues. He acknowledged that it is a blessing to be able to do both in his career saying, “It’s awesome. To have the opportunity to do both is really incredible.”

When talking about the fun and energy of playing in small venues, Hobby explained the attraction of the tiny clubs as being able to tap into “the energy of it, and the spirit is great.”

But don’t worry – A Thousand Horses doesn’t feel like giving up their arena tours yet either. “It’s always killer to play in an arena or an amphitheater.”

Let’s read between the lines: Keep an eye out on the small venues in your area. You never know when A Thousand Horses might show up looking to get in touch with their humble beginnings!
