It seems a lot of musicians are crossing genres and testing the waters in country music. Rockers, rappers, and even reality stars alike have been trying their hands at country. And, unless you’ve been living squarely under a rock for the last year or so, you’ve undoubtedly heard that one of those cross-overs is none other than Aerosmith front man, Steven Tyler.
While many might question the sincerity of these musical maneuvers, Tyler is here to tell you that he is the real deal. Tyler even recently went so far as to move to Music City itself, Nashville, TN. Tyler recently said in an interview with Nashville Lifestyles; “Even though Nashville’s a big town, it’s still got a small town attitude. Everybody’s real nice and kind of says ‘hello’ to each other. I grew up in a town of 1,200 people in New Hampshire, and back in my formative years in the early ‘60s, you knew everybody in town.”
His first album is said to be a cross between the pop bluegrass/folk band Mumford and Sons and The Man in Black’s final album. The sound is softer than what we’ve grown accustomed to from the otherwise rough and tumble musician and former American Idol judge, Tyler. The album’s first single video, “Love is Your Name” combines his new sound and his old style – yes, we’re talking about the scarves.
What do you think about this new side of one of rocks biggest voices?
