90 Years of Country Music's Greatest Has Performed On This Stage!
A lot has happened in the past ninety years. Voting rights were won for women, prohibition was created and (thankfully) repealed, two world wars played out (along with several others along the way), televisions ended up in nearly every home, pickup trucks got tougher, and this little thing called the Internet changed how we experienced everything.
And the Grand Ole Opry has been there to see it all!
Stars like Carrie Underwood, Trace Adkins, and the Oakridge Boys took to the stage to celebrate 90 years of Opry greatness on October 2nd and 3rd, 2015. “Country music is a place where an artist can have a long career, and the fans can grow with the artist. They’re loyal, and they stick with us” said Underwood in an interview with reporters in between sets. When speaking of The Opry in general, Underwood unabashedly proclaimed, “It’s the heart of country music.”
The Grand Ole Opry has been a social and musical mainstay for not just country music fans, but music lovers throughout the world for nearly a century. As a matter of fact, the Opry was established in 1925, three years before the inventions of sliced bread. In other words: The Grand Ole Opry is the greatest thing to happen since BEFORE sliced bread.
Who is your favorite Opry performer?
