Not cool, y’all. Not. Cool. At. All.
One of the things that we love about country music so much is the love within it. We love our country. We love our spouses. We love our friends. We love our parties. Country music is about being who you are and loving life.
Rebecca Salois and her friend were thrilled to go see Luke Bryan in concert in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Like so many other fans, knew they had to be in the audience when Luke came to town. Both women are huge country music fans, like all the others in attendance that day. So how is it that these two women could be treated so disgustingly and cruelly at a Luke Bryan concert?
Rebecca and her friend are both little people. Sadly, because of that, they were subjected to some appalling behavior and comments from other concert-goers during the show.
Rebecca shared her experience on her blog, saying; "The first thing I hear is, 'Oh my God, it's two midgets.' I was like, 'It's okay. It's okay. That's it. If that's the worst, I'm fine. I'm fine.' The worse that's going to happen is we're going to be stared at, I get it," she said.
It wasn’t the worst of it.
People began to approach the women, insisting on physical contact and hugs. Concert goers openly mocked and photographed the women. Some individuals made jabs about Santa coming to town early.
The women were made to feel so uncomfortable, they left the arena before Luke even hit the stage.
We’re all human, y’all. This is disgusting. Country music is about the love and the acceptance! I’m pretty sure if Luke Bryan had been there to witness it, he would have put a stop to it quickly.
What about you? Would you have stopped it? What would you have done?
