Now, if you’re like me, your favorite gifts to both give and receive are not bought in the store. My favorite gifts are those that I know were made with love and given from the heart. It might sound cliché, but you can keep your gift cards and your big box stores: I’m a DIY (Do It Yourself) kinda gal.
I love to spend lots of time scouring the Internet looking for cute, fun, and useful Christmas gifts to give. I have a few criteria when it comes to picking out great potential DIY Christmas gifts:
Why useful? Because I feel like we spend too much time buying stuff just for the sake of buying stuff. I like my items to serve a purpose – not just take up space. Why frugal? Any fool can spend their money. Not everyone is willing to spend their time. And why something they would be unlikely to buy themselves? Because then it is something extra special…a tiny luxury in a crazy world.
Over the next few weeks, I’m going to be sharing some of my very favorite DIY gift giving ideas. We’re going to be repurposing, refinishing, and reminding ourselves about the true meaning of the holidays: Expressing our love and appreciation for each other.
Here is a quick sneak peek to one of my favorites this year! These are super sweet to look at, easy to make, inexpensive to create, and will literally feed some hungry mouths this winter!
