Why Was Kenny Chesney Asking His Concert Goers To Do Cheek Swab Tests?
Kenny Chesney is just one in a million, y’all. As caring as he is talented, Kenny has never been one to shy away from his personal responsibility to help others in need. Kenny has given his time and money to countless charitable organizations and causes, helping those less fortunate whenever possible. It is easy to say that Kenny is one of the most charitable and giving stars in the country music sky.
And this year, he asked his fans to join him in helping others.
In 2015, Kenny asked fans attending his 2015 Big Revival Tour to take a simple cheek swab test. The reason? To save lives.
The cheek swab test was to find potential bone marrow donor matches to save the lives of those battling bone and blood cancers. During the tour, which was the largest of 2015 with over 1.3 million attendees, 25 potential donors were found. While that might sound like a small number, it is important to keep in mind the huge impact that number has on the individuals battling these life threatening diseases and their families.
Thank you, Kenny, for being the man who holds himself accountable to be the best Kenny you can be, and for helping us find ways to be the best caring humans we can be. You’re truly one in a million, Kenny!
