Justin Timberlake Hits The Country Music Charts

Well, let me be the first to welcome you, Mr. Timberlake.

Now, for many of us, the notion of having the former boy-band pretty boy contributing to country music can be a little hard to swallow. After all, this is the same fella who once had curly, permed hair, dated Britney Spears, and bragged about wearing his fancy suit and ties in his lyrics – not exactly country music material.

But, lest we forget, Justin Timberlake has chops. He was born and raised in Memphis, TN. He is the rare pop star who actually sings AND plays instruments during his concerts. And who can forget that incredible performance he did with Chris Stapleton last year during the 2015 Country Music Awards?

It was just this week, however, that country music finally let Mr. Timberlake into those hallowed halls. “Drink You Away,” the song performed with Stapleton last year, has officially hit the Country Music charts this week, debuting at number 60. While the song was actually released in 2013, the rise to popularity came after that magical night at the CMAs. Welcome, Justin!
