One of the most difficult parts in life is saying goodbye to a loved one when they pass away.
The pain can be unbearable when someone is mourning the death of his own child. This very situation is what inspired George Strait to write this song, “You’ll Be There,” about the death of his own daughter.
George and his wife, Norma, lost their daughter, Jennifer, to a car accident when she was only 13 years old. Following Jennifer’s Death, George immersed himself in his work and chose not to speak about the loss of his daughter in interviews.
“You’ll Be There” was written by Cory Mayo and released by George in 2005, as part of his album, Somewhere Down In Texas.
It is often said by fans that this song is performed in Jennifer’s memory, and George often becomes emotional when performing “You’ll Be There.”
This memorial video shows pictures of the Strait family and highlights moments of Jennifer’s brief but beautiful life.
