Alison Krauss’s Performance from Her New Solo Album Will Melt Your Heart
After 18 years of waiting, fans of Alison Krauss were thrilled to learn that she was releasing a new solo album!
It’s called Windy City, and is a collection that consists mainly of old standards that are familiar to most country music fans.
The Union Station front woman chose the songs for Windy City very carefully, seeking vintage tunes that had a classic sound and a universal appeal.
The exception to this is the track, “River in the Rain,” from a 1985 Broadway musical production that was based on Mark Twain’s Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.
Alison is known for her distinctive voice, which can be both gentle and powerful all at the same time.
Her haunting rendition of “River in the Rain” won’t just stay with you all day long; it will also show newbies to Alison’s work why she is one of the music scene’s most talented and beloved artists. Enjoy!
