Brave Daughter’s Song Moved Us to Tears as She Sang for Her Ill Dad on America’s Got Talent
Although plenty of the contestants on our favorite talent show, America's Got Talent, have stories of triumph over adversity, not everyone who takes the stage has finished fighting their life’s battles.
This sweet young girl, Evie Clair, comes from a little town in Arizona. She was blessed with a beautiful voice, but she and her family have a story of struggle that will truly touch your heart.
Evie's dad was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer only a year before Evie’s AGT debut.
Despite the grim odds of this ravaging condition, and the difficulty it caused in traveling, her dad was in attendance at Evie's performance.
As a tribute to her father, Evie chose to sing Christina Perri's 2011 hit song, "Arms.” She explained that it’s a special song for her and her dad, since she often sings it to inspire her father to keep up the fight.
The performance was absolutely beautiful, and the story behind her choice even more so. Our thoughts and prayers are with Evie and her family; we wish them all the best, and we hope to see more performances by this brave and talented teen!
