When the Nashville Predators’ fans arrived to the Bridgestone Arena for Game 3 of the playoffs between their home team and the Chicago Blackhawks, they had no idea about the surprises that were in store for them.
Before the teams took to the ice to begin the game, the crowd began to rise for the typical performance of our national anthem.
To the spectators’ amazement, the announcer revealed who would be singing The Star-Spangled Banner:
“Please rise and welcome seven-time Grammy winner and longtime Nashville Predators fan Carrie Underwood.”
Of course the audience responded by cheering wildly for one of their favorite fans! Nashville is Carrie’s home, and her husband, Mike Fisher, is captain of the Predators.
Wearing a #12 hockey jersey (the same number as Mike), Carrie gave the ecstatic arena of hockey lovers a real pre-game treat as she performed the national anthem.
And Carrie’s performance might have been a real good luck charm for the Predators; they won the game 3-0!
