If you ask us, rock and country go together like two peas in a pod. That was especially true on a hot Nashville night earlier this month, when Chris Stapleton was the opening act for rock superstars Guns N’ Roses.
Stapleton nailed his set, which consisted of eight songs, and definitely picked up a few new fans. In fact, although the crowd was warm and welcoming, the main floor section actually rose to their feet for Chris and his wife, vocalist Morgane Stapleton, as they finished with “Tennessee Whiskey.”
Chris Stapleton has always cited Guns N’ Roses as a major musical inspiration, especially during his younger years. He never would have predicted that he’d be warming up an audience for them. "When I was a kid, if you'd have told me I'd be up here playing before Guns N' Roses, I'd have called you a liar," he said.
But one thing is definitely true: no matter what kind of music may be, the crowd in Nashville definitely knows the good stuff when they hear it!
