Chris Stapleton Lights Up the Stage With an Old Song and a Charismatic New Artist

It’s always so cool when artists take a classic song and rework their own personalities into an updated version.

That’s just what Chris Stapleton did when he covered Tom Petty’s 1989 hit song, “Free Fallin’,” with country artist Maren Morris.

Of course, by now we all know that Chris Stapleton is no dabbler when it comes to country music; he’s been around Nashville and other music scenes for years.

But although fans of many musical types love his original material, Chris can do some mean cover versions as well!

Maren’s beautiful vocals combined with Chris’s stellar guitar skills and Americana-country singing style to create a sensational cover.

The folks at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville just couldn’t get enough!

Although Maren Morris is still making her reputation with fans of the country music scene, we were thrilled to see her performing with Chris.

All of his performances are remarkable, but he has turned this cover into something really special!
