Chris Stapleton Promises the Real Thing for the Audience

One of the things we love about Chris Stapleton is that he keeps it real.  His songwriting features gritty lyrics and infectious melodies, and he’s always proud to perform the old-fashioned way.

When he plays for a crowd, he likes to let that authenticity shine through each performance by choosing not to lip sync, or to have his band merely go through the motions of playing their instruments.

These days, performers often have their sets programmed by computer, and a lot of what we see and hear isn’t quite what it seems.  Many artists will choose to mime their singing and playing to minimize mistakes during special events; but when Stapleton performs, he always prefers to do things naturally.

Even on TV awards shows, which are notorious for being about as processed as things can get, Stapleton’s commitment to real performing is honored by the producers even though it means extra work for the crew.  This type of authenticity is refreshing, like a breath of fresh air -- in an air-conditioned world!
