Everyone loves the fun of an old school country song. Even our favorite artists are frequently inspired by those wonderful hits of the past -- and when new performers get an itch to cover the classics, it can be magic!
One of our favorites is “Elvira,” by the Oak Ridge Boys; and this cool vintage tune is pretty popular with some of today’s popular country stars, too. Nothing could prepare us for this very unusual rendition by Little Big Town, though! It was made even more memorable with a little help from their friend, Chris Stapleton, who was on the top of his game and ready to rock.
The original version that we all know and love is a fun, feel-good song -- but this bluesy version was so hot it almost scorched our eardrums! Of course, the addition of Morgane Stapleton’s awesome voice always adds yet another layer of complexity to any Chris Stapleton performance, and she definitely brought it this time.
It’s always so inspiring to see newer artists sharing the classics that they love, in creative new ways that we can all enjoy!
