Chris Stapleton’s Early Nashville Memories Lay A Strong Foundation

Even though Chris Stapleton was born in Kentucky, the city of Nashville has held a special place in his heart from a very early age.  He recalls a vital moment in his young life: the first time he ever held a guitar.  He was only 7 years old at the time, and on a vacation with his family.

They were visiting the historic RCA Studio B in Nashville, when Stapleton picked up a guitar that happened to be in the room.  In fact, a picture was taken of Stapleton’s first moments holding that Fender Telecaster.

As the years passed, he began to write songs and taught himself how to play music as well.  Although the memory is a bit fuzzy to him now, and he’s done so much more ever since, Stapleton still considers that family vacation to be one of his most beloved memories of Nashville.

After all, if he hadn’t taken that trip and learned to appreciate the culture, the world might not have all of the great songs that he’s written and performed!
