To many people, George Strait is the embodiment of everything great about country music.
He’s a true-blue cowboy: tough but handsome, with the heart of a poet and an unforgettable voice.
George has performed with some of country’s oldest and most beloved legends, but he’s never been one to shy away from collaborating with new up-and-coming artists, either.
But we think that George is truly in his element when he’s singing solo, playing his trusty guitar, perhaps backed by a small band to highlight his uncanny ability to keep the music in our heads long after the performance is over.
This act from the Country Music Association’s 2010 awards show is a shining example of the skills that George has honed in his 30-year career.
His song, “The Breath You Take,” is a moving ballad which is made even better by his earnest performance and that clear, strong voice that’s made him world famous.
If you’re a fan of the “King of Country,” you’ll see that this is Strait at his finest.
And if you’re not (yet!), this performance will definitely bring you around!
