Kenny Chesney Honors an Iconic Country Power Duo and Their Reaction is Extraordinary
One act that is near and dear to the hearts of all country fans is the duo of Brooks & Dunn. Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn started playing together in 1990, and that’s when the magic started.
So many current country stars have been deeply inspired by their emotional lyrics and addictive melodies that one night in Nashville, their friends decided to get together to pay them a tribute.
Kenny Chesney was among the stars honoring Brooks & Dunn during the taping of ACM Presents: Brooks & Dunn - The Last Rodeo at the MGM Grand, which honored the duo’s 20-year career.
Most of the artists in attendance simply sang for the crowd, but Kenny’s performance went just a little differently.
Kenny chose the iconic hit, “You’re Gonna Miss Me When I’m Gone” to serenade the guys. However, Kenny’s heartfelt delivery touched them so much that after awhile, the guys joined in to perform with Kenny for the audience.
It was truly a heart touching moment in country music history.
Though Brooks & Dunn’s touring days are largely behind them, the group still plays in Las Vegas for the fans who miss their amazing shows!
