Although Little Big Town is a modern country group in every way that counts, we’ve always thought of them as having a timeless style and class that sets them apart from most other acts these days.
Fans who watched them perform the national anthem during the College Football National Championship might also have been reminded of country music’s old-school allure as well.
Decked out in basic black and white -- with a few dashes of red that made us suspect a few Crimson Tide fans among LBT! -- the band helped to kick off college football’s most important night of the year with “The Star-Spangled Banner.”
Our national anthem is always a tricky song to pull off well, so it’s natural to wonder: Did they slay it? Of course they did!
Fans that were expecting something special from LBT were not disappointed; this performance contained all the vocal panache that made Little Big Town famous!
The Clemson Tigers may have won the game, but fans of both teams can agree that LBT’s performance made a fabulous night even better!
