The City of Hope celebrity softball game took place a few weeks ago, and it was truly a spectacular summer scene!
The event was held at First Tennessee Park in Nashville, in order to raise money to fund research for treatment of cancer, diabetes, and other life-threatening disorders. Country music artists came out in full force for this fabulous cause!
Stars like Billy Ray Cyrus and Craig Morgan were raring to get onto that field and play ball; but a big highlight of this event was the traditional singing of our national anthem prior to the game.
Of course, City of Hope had to choose some country music royalty for this honor; who better than country’s reigning queen, Reba McEntire, to sing for this crowd!
Her voice stood up perfectly to the challenge of this difficult song -- as usual, Reba rocked it!
The game had highest attendance record of any previous City of Hope softball games, and all for a very meaningful cause!
