She Lives in a Bank... and Has Cocktails in the Vault? Check Out Her Strange Home Here
What’s the most unusual type of home that you’ve ever seen?
It isn’t terribly strange to see folks living in upscale versions of converted barns… but about Cathy Calhoun from Spring City, Pennsylvania who makes her home in a converted bank? And what a beautiful home it is!
Cathy has done her utmost to keep the integrity of the structure intact, while adding lots of elegant and homey touches throughout her unusual residence.
The bank has not just one, but two vaults: a more modern steel vault, which Cathy uses as place to serve cocktails, and the bank’s original
19th-century vault that Cathy converted into a private sauna.
When she took possession of the building, Cathy even got ownership of the safety deposit box keys and all box contents; some of the things she’s found remain on display in the home.
We love the innovative way that Cathy has transformed this building from a professional place of business into a fun, comfortable, and totally unique place to live!
