Although Josh Turner is well known in country music as a talented artist, there’s more to him that just cool lyrics and an amazing deep voice.

Along with his many impressive talents, Josh has a heart of gold!  Although he’s been doing performances at the Grand Ole Opry since 2001, a show from last year might just be one of his most memorable.

The audience was expecting Josh to come onstage and start the show; instead, they got to enjoy a surprising warm-up act -- Josh’s grandma-in-law, Lois Cunningham.

This 98-year-old granny played a piano rendition of the gospel hymn, “How Great Thou Art,” which can only be described as heavenly!

Lois has been playing the piano all of her life, and always dreamed of someday entertaining an audience at the Opry.

Thanks to Josh’s invitation to come and play at the show, Lois got to achieve this awesome dream! The audience was brought to their feet by Lois’s outstanding performance as well.

It was a night of Grand Ole Opry history that Josh and his fans will always remember!
