Although Dolly Parton’s style has always given her fans lots to talk about, her musical skills have only gotten better with each year.
Even so, sometimes we still get nostalgic for some old-school Dolly performances.
Way back in 1983, Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers started performing together with the massively popular “Islands in the Stream,” and the two have worked together on many occasions since.
One song that brings back such great memories of their duet performances is their rendition of the emotional ballad, “We Got Tonight” (fun fact: it was originally written and performed by Bob Seger!).
Hearing this as a duet brought a whole new dimension of emotion to the song.
Dolly and Kenny have tremendous onstage chemistry, and their voices work some fabulous magic together as well.
This slice of the 1980s brings back great memories of a really fun time in music history, but it also shows the youngsters just how things were done in such a glamorous era!
