Not only is Toby Keith one of the most beloved artists in country music today, he also has quite the reputation for being a really great guy.
We’re always hearing stories about what a good sport he is; but we were really impressed with the tale of his “Live In Overdrive” Tour, the unfortunate events that messed with his opening act, and Toby’s dedication to making things right.
The weather simply wasn’t cooperating during the night of Toby’s performance at the Red Rock Casino in Las Vegas.
The show was delayed for two whole hours because of lightning and rain; and the opening act, Brantley Gilbert, was cancelled entirely, much to the disappointment of his guests. But many of Toby’s fans stayed and toughed it out, waiting for the bad weather to pass.
When the show finally did start, Toby gave a stunning performance to make up for the delays. He also invited Brantley Gilbert to come onstage and sing “Whiskey Girl” with him.
The two gave a performance that had the wet, tired audience screaming with new energy and enthusiasm.
In the end, it all worked out: Brantley got to perform a bit, and Toby got to give his friends in Las Vegas an amazing show. We’d call that a win-win situation!
