Toby Keith Shocks Restaurant Patrons With His Late-Night Visit
Toby Keith sure has been getting around on his “Interstates and Tailgates” tour! But with all of that traveling, we can see why he has a need to be around some friendly faces and a little comfort food every once in a while.
After playing a show at Darien Lake State Park in New York, Toby had certainly worked up an appetite. Fortunately, he had a good buddy -- Brian Matthews, owner of the local East Eden Tavern & Smokehouse -- backstage, waiting to help out. The two met in Florida fifteen years ago, bonded over a mutual love of food and sports, and have been friends ever since.
Brian made sure to keep the restaurant open late when Toby came into town, just in case his pal had a snack attack after the show. Once Toby was finished feasting on roast beef and pulled pork, he borrowed the band’s gear and played a few tunes for the other patrons. The crowd just loved it!
Brian’s restaurant is still new to East Eden, but his famous friend’s surprise has given exposure to the restaurant, and now the whole town is buzzing. After all, that’s what friends are for!
