When it comes to singing in honky tonks, Miranda Lambert knows what she’s doing. In fact, Miranda has enjoyed performing even on small stages since her tender teenage years.
Maybe this is why she chose to perform Loretta Lynn’s celebrated tune, “Honky Tonk Girl,” during a tribute for the celebrated artist at the Grand Ole Opry.
The event was a celebration of Loretta’s long and illustrious career, as well as her 50th anniversary of being a Grand Ole Opry member.
Although the lyrics of this song cover some gritty material, Miranda belts it out in that sweet and sassy way that’s made her famous.
Our favorite parts of the video involve Loretta herself looking on at Miranda’s performance and smiling.
It seems that she was enjoying it every bit as much as the audience was!
Having the opportunity to pay tribute to such a legendary star is a rare chance indeed -- but to watch them approving of the performance seems like a dream come true!
